The following seven habits of highly effective people to improve your personality.
According to Convey you can either be proactive or reactive when it comes to how you respond to different situations.
When you are reactive, you blame other people and circumstances for obstacles or problems. You never take responsibility about any circumstances or any bad thing happening in your life, you only blame others and in this way you never take any actions to solve your problems.
When you are proactive, you take the responsibility whatever happening in your life whether it is good or bad. Then, you take actions to solve various problems and in this way you learn many things which helps to boost your self-confidence and personality.
Begin With The End In Mind
Convey emphasizes on setting long-term goals. He recommends creating a vision of one’s own life. He sees visualization as an important tool to design a vision.
In addition, Convey has mentioned about organizational vision statements. According to him, the organizational vision statements can be more effective, if developed and supported by all members of an organization.
Put First Thing First
Actually this one is the important habit which I have implemented on myself because sometimes i confuse which work I have to do when and which one is the important one, But after implementing this habit I easily prioritize my work and according to that I work and set my goals.
Convey describes a framework for prioritizing worked aimed at short-term goals, at the cost of tasks that appear not to be urgent, but are, in fact very important.
According to convey win/win is a frame of mind and heart that constantly seeks mutual benefit in all human interactions. It means that agreements or solutions are mutually beneficial
and satisfying. Win/win is a belief in the “Third Alternative”. It’s not your way or my way, it’s a better way.
Win/win means we have to see life as a cooperative way, not like competitive arena.
Seek First To Understand, Then To Be Understood
We have seen in our life that the highly effective people have one most important characteristic that is a good communication skill which make them unique from others.
Convey describes that communication is the most important skill in life. You spend most of your life communicating. Consider that you have spent years learning how to read and write and years learning how to speak.
But what about listening?
I notice that if you have a good communication skill then people love to listen you and they attract towards your words and tones.
Convey mentions that giving out advice without understanding a person and their situation might result in the rejection of that advice, this one is absolutely true we first have to understand the person situation then give suggestion according to it.
The word synergize speak itself which means combine or coordinate the activity to produce a joint effect greater than the sum of their separate effects. It is the habit of creative cooperation.
It catalyzes, unifies, and unleashes the greatest power within people. It describes the way of working in teams, applies effective problem solving, applies collaborative decision making, values differences, builds on divergent strengths, leverages creative collaborations, and embraces and leverages innovation.
It is very important to being an important team head, leader and a successful, sustainable organization, it is the way of respecting each person in the team and work together.
Sharpen The Saw
This habit makes all the other habits possible. It is preserving and enhancing the greatest asset you have, that is, “you” yes “you”.
It focuses on balanced self-satisfaction.
It is the renewal of the four dimensions of your nature, physical, spiritual, mental and social/emotional, all these nature help you to become an effective person in the society.
Without this discipline, the body becomes weak, the mind becomes mechanical the emotions become raw, the spirit becomes insensitive, and the person becomes selfish.
